What You Need To Know About UAE’s 5-Year Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa
The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA Dubai) has outlined the requirements for the UAE’s five-year multiple-entry tourist visa. This new visa will allow travellers of all nationalities to visit the country multiple times without needing a sponsor or host. The visa is self-sponsored and remains valid for 5 years; during this period, travellers can enter and leave the UAE as often as they like. The flexibility to move in and out of the country only applies as long as they follow the stay regulations.
Each visit allows a stay of up to 90 days, with the option to extend for another 90 days. But the total time spent in the UAE cannot exceed 180 days within a single year. This visa is particularly useful for frequent visitors, tourists, business travellers, and those who regularly visit family and friends in the UAE.
Who Can Apply?
To qualify for the five-year multiple-entry tourist visa, applicants must provide:
- A passport with at least six months’ validity
- A recent passport-sized photograph
- Valid health insurance
- A confirmed return ticket
- Bank statements covering the previous six months
- Applicants must also show a minimum bank balance of USD 4,000 (or the equivalent in another currency) maintained during the six months before submitting their application.

Here’s How To Apply
Applications can be completed through the UAE’s official digital platforms and smart applications. These smart application centres are available 24/7. Those who prefer in-person assistance can also apply through Customer Happiness Centres and Amer Service Centres. The application process involves:
- Selecting the required visa service
- Filling out the application form
- Uploading all supporting documents
- Paying the applicable fees
How Much Does It Cost?
The total application fee is AED 3713, which includes visa charges, service fees and a refundable financial guarantee. The final amount may vary depending on individual circumstances or any additional requirements linked to the application.

While the visa does offer some flexibility, travellers must ensure they do not overstay the permitted duration. Visitors can track their entry and exit history in their travel movement report, helping them avoid overstaying fines or penalties.
