We Hate To Be The Bearer Of Bad News, But Here Are All The Cancelled UAE Concerts & How To Get Your Refund
Swedish House Mafia’s Dubai Show Is Now Cancelled
Swedish House Mafia were scheduled to perform on Saturday, 16 May, at Ushuaïa Dubai Harbour Experience. However, according to emails sent directly to ticket holders, the event is no longer going ahead. Fans who purchased tickets began receiving emails confirming the cancellation. Some emails state that full refunds are being processed to the original payment method used at the time of purchase.
Original Event Plan
The electronic music trio, Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso, were expected to headline one of Dubai’s biggest dance events of the month at Ushuaïa Dubai’s official season finale. The event promised a massive waterfront production at Dubai Harbour. And fans were expecting an energetic live set from one of the world’s biggest electronic music acts. For many, this iconic event was shaping up to be one of the final major music events before summer kicks in.
No Public Statement Yet From Ushuaïa Dubai
As of now, Ushuaïa Dubai has not publicly addressed the cancellation across its main social channels. The event listing reportedly remained live online for some time after ticket holders began receiving cancellation emails, leaving many fans unsure whether the show could still be rescheduled or replaced with an announcement by another artist. For now, there’s been no confirmation of a replacement act or a future date.

Why Some Fans Still Haven’t Heard From Ticketmaster
Unfortunately, due to the current geopolitical situation, the show has been cancelled. And if you haven’t received an email yet, don’t panic just yet! According to Ticketmaster’s policy, event organisers, venues, or performers are responsible for officially authorising cancellations and refund announcements before contacting ticket holders.
With that being said, Ticketmaster explains that while they make reasonable efforts to notify customers once approval is received, they cannot guarantee that everyone will be notified before the event date. But why don’t all customers receive their refund notice on time? In some cases, notifications and refund processing occur in stages rather than all at once. That means some fans may receive updates earlier than others, depending on how their booking was processed.
How Refunds Are Being Handled
Ticket holders who purchased before the original event date are expected to receive a full refund covering the ticket’s face value and any related convenience fees. Refunds are being issued to the original payment method used at checkout.
Fans are also encouraged to keep checking their emails and monitor their bank statements over the coming days.

A concert cancellation is not something anyone wants to hear about as summer approaches. Especially when Swedish House Mafia was supposed to deliver one of Dubai’s biggest party nights of the season. If you bought tickets, keep checking your inbox and payment account. For all the updates, check Ushuaïa Dubai’s socials and the Ticketmaster website. And of course, stick with Gulf Buzz to be the first to know of any concert reschedules and cancellations.
