Who Qualifies For The Fine Waiver
Travellers affected by flight suspensions from 28 February 2026 onward can avoid fines if their delay was beyond their control. This includes:
- Departure permit holders who overstayed their allowed grace period
- Tourist and visit visa holders whose stay has expired
- Residency permit holders whose exit was delayed after permit cancellation
The decision ensures that travellers can resolve their legal status without incurring additional financial burdens due to circumstances beyond their control.

UAE Flight Updates
UAE carriers have adjusted operations as regional airspace closures continue. While most regular flights remain suspended, limited and special services are running to help passengers with confirmed bookings, essential travel, and repatriation. Passengers are returning via chartered and special flights. This includes direct services from Dubai and Fujairah airports, as well as routes operated by Oman Air and Salam Air. Dubai (DXB, DWC), Abu Dhabi (AUH), Sharjah (SHJ), and Ras Al Khaimah (RKT) have resumed limited operations.
Emirates has also confirmed over 100 flights from Dubai to key destinations, carrying passengers and essential cargo like perishables and pharmaceuticals. As schedules are subject to change, travellers are advised to only depart with confirmed bookings.
Being caught in travel delays doesn’t have to come with fines or stress. Keep an eye on your visa status, confirm your flights, and stay informed. And of course, keep reading Gulf Buzz for all the latest updates!
