Those striking images of Sharjah’s mosques, forts and waterfronts bathed in colour aren’t filters or AI! They’re real, and they’re back again to dazzle you with some of the best light work you’ve ever experienced. The Sharjah Light Festival returns for its 15th edition, transforming the Emirate into a breathtaking open-air gallery decked in light, shrouded in music and rich in storytelling, all for FREE. Running for a limited time only, this winter, the festival brings together art, culture and technology, lighting up Sharjah’s most iconic landmarks in a way that’s genuinely unforgettable.

Everything You Need To Know About The Sharjah Light Festival?

One of the UAE’s most photographed winter events, the Sharjah Light Festival turns the Emirate’s cultural and historical landmarks into massive projection canvases. Using cutting-edge light mapping, sound and visual storytelling, renowned artists create immersive displays that celebrate Sharjah’s heritage, creativity and identity. This year’s theme, ‘Reflections of Belonging,is inspired by local traditions, the natural world, and even space. The theme explores nature, community, culture, and shared stories, told through vibrant colours, movement, and music. Whether you enjoy culture or just need some family-friendly time outdoors, this limited-time festival needs to be on your list.

Where Will The Light Displays Be?

Planning to enjoy a visual wonderland? These are the places to visit. Do keep in mind that there are 13 locations in total, so planning ahead is key if you want to catch them all!

Locations include:

  • Sharjah Mosque
  • University City Hall
  • Al Majaz Waterfront
  • Dibba, Kalba, and Khorfakkan (on the East Coast)

Don’t Miss The Light Village

Beyond the projections, the Light Village is where the festival truly comes alive. Located right in front of the University City Hall, the Light Village opens before the main festival, making it perfect for early visits and weekend strolls. This vibrant outdoor hub features:

  • 50 Food trucks and pop-up eateries
  • Local shopping stalls
  • Interactive light installations
  • Family-friendly entertainment

  • Date & Time: 3 – 15 February, 2026 | Weekdays from 4 PM – 12 AM, Weekends from 4 PM to 1 AM
  • Light Village Date & Time: 29 January – 22 February, 2026 |8 PM – 11 PM
  • Location: Multiple landmarks across Sharjah
