Where It’s Headed

The Blue Line will include 14 stations across two routes:

  • Route One (10 stations): Starts at Creek Station on the Green Line and goes through Dubai Festival City, Dubai Creek Harbour, Ras Al Khor, and into International City (with an underground interchange station). It continues to International City 2 and 3, Dubai Silicon Oasis, and ends at Academic City.

  • Route Two (4 stations): Begins at Centrepoint Station on the Red Line and passes through Mirdif and Al Warqa, eventually meeting at the International City 1 Interchange Station.

Less Traffic, More Convenience

The Blue Line is expected to cut traffic congestion by 20% and offer a direct link to Dubai International Airport from nine different areas, with travel times ranging from just 10 to 25 minutes. It’s also set to support Dubai’s big vision for a “20-minute city,” which means getting to most essential places within 20 minutes. Plus, it’ll be a huge win for students living and studying in Dubai Academic City. Which is already expected to have over 50,000 university students by 2029.

Capacity & Size

The full Blue Line will stretch 30km, of which 21km along Route One and 9km along Route Two. Once it’s up and running, Dubai’s total metro network will grow to 131km, with 78 stations and 168 trains in total. The new line will be able to carry 850,000 passengers per day, and by 2030, around 200,000 people are expected to use it daily. And is expected to jump to 320,000 by 2040.

Meet The First Station

The first station on the Blue Line has finally been announced, and it’s a big one. Emaar Properties has secured naming rights for the first 10 years starting in 2029. The station will officially be called Emaar Station.

Not just that, but it’s also going to be the world’s highest metro station! And it’s being Designed by the same architects behind the Burj Khalifa, AKA Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. The station will feature towering walls, glass ceilings, natural light, and a modern-meets-traditional vibe using stone and metal tones. It’s basically Dubai’s new architectural icon.

Built For Everyone

The Blue Line is all about inclusivity and smart design. Each station will offer:

  • Parking spaces
  • Electric scooter racks
  • Taxi pick-up zones
  • EV charging points
  • Accessible features for People of Determination

There will be 9 elevated and 5 underground stations, with the exterior of the elevated ones inspired by seashells. Inside, each station will have one of seven creative themes like Heritage, Earth, Fire, Air, and Water. So every stop feels unique.

The Countdown Is On

The Dubai Metro Blue Line is a massive move toward a smarter, greener, and more connected Dubai. With faster travel, fewer cars on the road, and some stunning stations on the way, this is one ride we can’t wait to take!
