1. E311
If you drive on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Road (E311), Abu Dhabi has officially removed the minimum speed limit of 120km/h on the leftmost lanes. Earlier, if you drove below 120km/h in this lane, you’d be hit with a AED 400 fine. The maximum speed on E311 remains at 140km/h.
2. E11 / Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed International Road
The old limit on the E11 was 160km/h, but now it’s been brought down to 140km/h. This long stretch links Abu Dhabi to Dubai, running through multiple emirates like Sharjah, Ajman, and Ras Al Khaimah.
3. E20 / International Airport Road
The speed limit on E20 or International Airport Road has dropped from 120km/h to 100km/h.
4. Sheikh Mohammed bin Salem Street, Ras Al Khaimah
The speed limit on Sheikh Mohammed bin Salem Street, Ras Al Khaimag has been reduced from 100km/h to 80km/h on the stretch between Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Roundabout (Al Riffa) and Al Marjan Island Roundabout. The radar speed limit here has also been adjusted to 101 km/h, instead of the old 121 km/h. So keep an eye on your speedometer to avoid surprise fines!
