Sadly, the time that all drivers in Dubai are dreading is almost here. From Friday, April 4th onwards Variable Tariff Parking Policy will take effect in parking zones across the city. So, to get us all prepared for D-day here is a breakdown of how the new parking system will work according to the different zones.

How Will The New Parking System Work?
The new system categorises parking fees into peak and off-peak hours, with rates differing for premium and standard parking spaces.
Peak Hours: 8 AM – 10 AM & 4 PM – 8 PM
- Premium Parking: AED 6 per hour
- Standard Parking: AED 4 per hour
Off-Peak Hours: 10 AM – 4 PM & 8 PM – 10 PM
- Prices remain unchanged.
Free Parking: 10 PM – 8 AM & all day on Sundays
What Is Premium Parking?
Premium parking spaces are located in high-demand areas, such as:
- Near metro stations (within 500 meters)
- Business hubs
- Shopping districts
These spaces are priced higher due to their convenience and high occupancy during peak times.
Breakdown Of Parking Fees by Zone
Zone A: Central & Business Areas
Standard On-Street Parking:
- AED 4 per hour
- AED 8 for two hours
- AED 12 for three hours
- AED 16 for four hours
Premium Off-Street Parking:
- Peak: AED 6 per hour | AED 24 for four hours
- Off-Peak: AED 4 per hour | AED 16 for four hours
Zone B: Mixed Commercial & Residential Areas
Standard On-Street Parking:
- Peak: AED 4 per hour | AED 16 for four hours
- Off-Peak: AED 3 per hour | AED 12 for four hours
- Flat Day Rate: AED 30
Premium Off-Street Parking:
- Peak: AED 6 per hour | AED 24 for four hours
- Off-Peak: AED 3 per hour | AED 12 for four hours
- Flat Day Rate: AED 40
Zone C: Suburban & Less Congested Areas
Standard On-Street Parking:
- Peak: AED 4 per hour | AED 16 for four hours
- Off-Peak: AED 2 per hour | AED 11 for four hours
Premium Off-Street Parking:
- Peak: AED 6 per hour | AED 24 for four hours
- Off-Peak: AED 2 per hour | AED 11 for four hours
Note: No flat day rate is available in this zone.
Zone D: Residential & Low-Traffic Areas
Standard On-Street Parking:
- Peak: AED 4 per hour | AED 16 for four hours
- Off-Peak: AED 2 per hour | AED 7 for four hours
- Flat Day Rate: AED 20
Premium Off-Street Parking:
- Peak: AED 6 per hour | AED 24 for four hours
- Off-Peak: AED 2 per hour | AED 7 for four hours
Note: No flat day rate is available in this zone.
