50 Days Till Summer Begins – 7 Things You Can Do Before The Heat Sets In

The winter chill has passed in Dubai, but our ice creams still aren’t melting that fast outside yet. Dubai residents are currently in this weird in-between state of not knowing if we need a jacket to step outside or if we should bring our portable fans. And with just about 50 days left until summer officially hits the books I’m sure we all want to make the most of our days while we can still stand to be outside. So, here you are. These are all the great things you need to check off your Dubai bucket list before Summer enters the chat mid to end of June.

1. Food Festivals Galore

The Dubai Food Festival is currently here till May 12th, which mean the Etisalat e& Beach Canteen is open until May 12th as well. Soak up every minute of this outdoor food frenzy as you can, because your ice creams will definitely be melting soon if you stand outside for too long. And plus its DFF what’s there not to love? Are you telling me you don’t love trendy food pop-ups and AED 10 signature dishes? Exactly! So, what are you waiting for? Head down to Jumeriah Beach now!

2. Global Village Extended Days

We thought we had to bid farewell to Global Village this April, but the masterminds behind this Dubai Icons heard our pleas and have extended it for one more week. That’s right, we get to enjoy the wonder of GV until Sunday, May 5th. So, get on those rides, stroll through pavilions and shop till you drop because remember, we won’t get any more GV days till it reopens in October.

3. Sip On Unlimited Drinks Outside

Just because our days of enjoying a rooftop/terrace dinner are numbered doesn’t mean our drinks have to be right. If you can still tolerate sitting outside for an extended period of time then why not do so while sipping on an unlimited number of drinks? Grab yourself and unlimited drinks package, find a friend or few and enjoy those gorgeous Dubai views.

4. Join A First Of Its Kind Music Festival In Dubai

Something BIG is coming soon, and it’s going to be a slice of Korea straight to Dubai. Say Hello to the WATERBOMB Festival! This is one of South Korea’s most electrifying music festivals, and it’s making its Dubai debut this June 7th & 8th. Prepare for two days of non-stop fun, music, and epic water battles, all happening at Dubai Festival City. Can’t you already picture it – massive water cannons firing off during electrifying performances while party-goers armed with water pistols join in the frenzy. Get your tickets here.

5. Mountainous Activities

Ah, there’s nothing like spending a little time in the great outdoors, surrounded by nature. Let me tell you exactly what I mean when I say ‘Mountainous Activities’ – hike up to see the new Hatta sign (which Is more significant than the Hollywood sign in America btw), go Kayaking or paddle-boarding in Hatta Dam, conquer the mountains via bikes. All of these great activities aren’t limited to Hatta; you can even venture your way to Jebel Jais or even Kor Fa Khan. I think I can hear the great outdoors calling your name, can you?

6. The Middle East’s Largest Swing

Speaking of the great outdoors, while you’re still feeling adventurous, why not take a trip down to Fujairah Adventure Park and try bravery out on the Middle East’s highest swing? And don’t worry, you’ll only be soaring a mere 4 metres off the ground. Oh, sorry, I meant FOURTY METERS off the ground. Brave enough?

7. Outdoor Concerts

In Dubai, there is no shortage of concerts, but as we get closer to June, outdoor concerts may become more scarce. The next big outdoor concert is coming up this May 3rd at Terra Solis, presented by Tomorrowland. Be prepared to be starstruck by the likes of Dennis Cruz, Stasi Sanlin, and Luna and Lenthe. Or head down to Barasti for Blisstronic’s 4th Anniversary Festival on May 4th and enjoy legendary DJs, mesmerising visuals, and so much more!
