Who needs to dive 3,800 meters below the ocean to see the Titanic when Dubai is bringing it to us in VR form! That’s right, get ready to walk the plank of the most infamous ship there is as the world’s first-ever virtual reality ‘Titanic: A Voyage Through Time’ experience comes to Dubai. Launching this month in Al Quoz, this experience will take you on a powerful journey through the Titanic’s history, all brought to life with cutting-edge VR technology (which might just make you feel like you’re diving straight into the real thing). So, before you rewatch the movie for the one hundredth time, let me tell you exactly what’s coming our way very soon.

Imagine stepping back to 1912, standing under the chandeliers of the Titanic’s Grand Staircase or peeking into the lavish dining rooms that once hosted first-class guests. That’s exactly what you’ll experience here – but it gets even better. It all starts with a deep dive nearly 3.8 kilometres below the ocean’s surface to see the Titanic wreck as it lies today. Then you’ll be transported back to the ship’s glorious days (you know, before its fateful voyage). And by all means, don’t think of this as a history lesson. No, no, no. This is going to be a full-on adventure, with every moment designed to make you feel like you’re really there.
What’s going to be one of the coolest parts if you ask me? You don’t just float around like an outsider. You get a boarding pass with your name on it, post it in the ship’s mailbox, and step on board as an actual passenger (which you will be). Want to unpack your suitcase in your cabin? Go for it. Fancy helping out in the engine room by shovelling coal into the furnace? Be my guest. It’s not an immersive experience for no reason. This way, you’ll truly feel like you’re part of the story – sans the ice-cold ending, of course.
This whole experience is put together by the team at Active Games and Fever (they’re the ones who bring fun events like real life Pac-Man and Monopoly to Dubai). They’ve teamed up with history experts from Musealia to make sure it’s not just cool but also accurate. You’ll walk away with stories to tell and a bit of Titanic trivia to impress your friends later.
The experience will officially open on June 24, so be sure to free up space on your calendar from now. You’ll be able to visit from 1pm to 11pm on weekdays (Monday to Thursday) and from 11am to 11pm on weekends (Friday to Sunday). Tickets start from AED 99, and the experience lasts around 45 minutes, but there’s no rush, feel free to move around the space at your own pace. The Titanic experience will be open to everyone aged 8 and above, but if you’re bringing younger kids under 12, they’ll need to come with an adult.
Tickets for Titanic: A Voyage Through Time are finally on sale so visit their website now and get ready for the dive of your life!
