US Drug Trial Results: Drug Has A 100% Success Rate, A Milestone For Cancer Treatment Achieved!

A couple of days ago, in a medical trial in the USA, 12 patients were completely cured of cancer that they had! These patients has rectal cancer and were cured without any chemotherapy or surgery. The experiment employed Dostarlimab, a monoclonal antibody, every three weeks for six months to treat a specific type of stage two or three rectal cancer. Doctors from New York’s Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center conducted the research, which was published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

The experiment found that immunotherapy alone, without the use of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or surgery, could entirely cure patients with a kind of rectal cancer known as “mismatch repair deficient cancer.” All the patients were followed for 6 to 25 months after the treatment was completed. Dr Luis A. Diaz Jr. of New York’s Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center said this was ‘the first time this has happened in the history of cancer’.

In the New England Journal of Medicine, Dr Diaz and a team of researchers released an article outlining their remarkable findings. “No cases of progression or recurrence had been reported during the follow-up,” the study said. The response was very quick, with 81 per cent of patients experiencing symptom relief within nine weeks of starting treatment.
