Dubai Police Launch New App Version In 7 Languages & 70 Developed Services

The Dubai Police General Command announced the launch of the new version of its smart app during the second day of Gitex Global 2022, held at Dubai World Trade Centre. The new app version will come in 7 languages, and a premium bunch of 70 developed services using the latest programming languages, techniques, artificial intelligence, a ‘dashboard’ containing personal information, e-cards, and even traffic violations made by the user.

7 Languages

The new app will support seven languages: Arabic, English, Russian, German, Chinese, French, and Spanish.

Personal Dashboard & Facial Recognition

Director of the General Department of Artificial Intelligence at Dubai Police, Major General Khalid Nasser Al Razooqi said that the newest update will ensure a smoother user experience & will even have a facial recognition feature. He said, “To make the login process more accessible, customers can now sign in to the Dubai Police app using the face recognition feature.”

Each user will have their own personal dashboard that will feature e-cards, personal information, customer transactions, statistics showing percentage of services used and traffic violations recorded on the traffic file.

Smart Volunteer

The updated app will feature a Smart Volunteer feature which will allow citizens to register as volunteers. Volunteers will be able receive distress requests from the Dubai Police app users & help out instantly. This will help with quicker assistance, while creating a culture on inclusivity.

Crash Detection

Al Razooqi said, “It also includes a new feature that notifies users of temporary street closures and major traffic accidents. When a major accident that calls for a temporary road closure is reported to the Command and Control Room or police patrols, road users will be then notified via the Dubai Police app so they can seek alternative routes and avoid congestions.”

The app will help detect serious accident detection, like a car collision, and immediately send out a distress signal (SOS).

Vulnerable Group Protection

A new feature on the smart app will let women, children & other vulnerable groups request assistance in emergencies, anytime and anywhere.

Visually-Impaired App Services

Al Razooqi said, “The Dubai Police’s updated smart app includes a feature for visually impaired people to enable them to request assistance and submit complaints and suggestions. It also contains a camera reading for blind people, which processes captured images.”
