In this new month of February, petrol prices in the UAE will increase by 10%. The price of Super 98 jumped to AED 2.94 from AED 2.65. While the case for Special 95 is almost the same. Special 95 is now available for AED 2.82 which was earlier priced at AED 2.53.
The rises are the greatest since 2015 when the UAE began basing fuel prices on average worldwide costs. Previously, the government subsidised all gasoline prices to protect households from changing rates. Prices broke beyond the two dirham/litre barrier in March 2021 and haven’t looked back since. Much of the globe is now facing soaring fuel expenses, with some nations suffering four-fold increases in petrol prices.
