And I have some good news for all of us – Leading UAE astronomers predict that the Eid Al Fitr public holiday is likely to be a 5-day long weekend! According to the Dubai Astronomy Group, astronomical calculations suggest that Ramadan will likely last 30 days, making the five-day long weekend scenario the most probable outcome! However, the final confirmation will only come after the official moon-sighting committee meets on March 29 to observe the sky. If the crescent moon is not sighted on the night of March 29, the committee with reconvene on the evening of March 30.
As we all know by now, the number of days off we’ll get for Eid Al Fitr depends on when the crescent Moon is sighted, which determines the last day of Ramadan.
