This UK Couple Left Their Hometown & Settled In India To Take Care Of Stray Dogs

A UK couple came to Kovalam, Kerala, India for a 2-week trip. They saw the state of stray dogs in the city and asked the locals if anyone wanted to take care of them. None of the locals came forward to help, so the couple decided to stay back and take the matter in their hands. Mary and Steve cancelled their tickets and decided to take care of the stray dogs.

In the UK, Mary used to work in an animal welfare charity and Steve ran a business. The couple first adopted two dogs and the nu,ber has been increasing ever since. Right now, they are taking care of about 140 dogs. They have about 4 shelters where these dogs stay. Over 2,400 have been vaccinated and 1,500 dogs have been sterilised.
