The whole world has faced this deadly virus, and some of its disadvantages are that, that people are choosing to move into smaller homes or are living with with their friends and family so that they can save up on rent. One such place which is still going through the drastic effects of this virus is Italy. Many beautiful towns in Italy are completely abandon and depopulated.
One such town, Salemi, is offering vacant houses for as low as 4.5 AED, since it has been suffering from the problem of depopulation for many years and covid just made it worse. Domenico Venuti, who is Salemi’s mayor, explained to CNN, “All buildings belong to the city council, which speeds up the sale and reduces red tape. Before launching the scheme we first had to recover the old parts of Salemi where the houses are located, upgrading infrastructures and services from roads to electric grids and sewage pipes. Now the town is ready for the next step.”
Sicily's Salemi is the latest depopulated Italian town to offer up dilapidated properties for less than the cost of an espresso in a bid to attract new residents. https://t.co/3fdQIrb2gB
