Dubai Opera witnessed an unforgettable evening on Thursday, March 13, 2025, as the world’s first mega musical on Shri Krishna, Rajadhiraaj: Love. Life. Leela., made its grand debut! The Broadway-style production dazzled a packed audience, bringing together theatre lovers from across the Indian and international communities for a truly one-of-a-kind experience. This larger-than-life musical offers an awe-inspiring portrayal of Shri Krishna’s divinity, wisdom, and charm through mesmerising performances, stunning visuals, and live music. From the moment the curtains rose, Rajadhiraaj left the audience instantly spellbound. With 20 original songs, over 180 talented artists, and a troupe of 60 dynamic dancers, the production redefined the boundaries of Indian theatre on an international stage! The sheer scale of the performance was breathtaking – from 1,800 custom-made costumes, to intricate set designs, and choreography that blended elegance with energy, all coming together to create a visual and musical masterpiece.
After receiving overwhelming love and applause in India, Rajadhiraaj has now found a new audience in Dubai, and the response has been nothing short of phenomenal. The musical’s deep storytelling, soul-stirring melodies, and breathtaking staging have earned praise from both audiences and celebrities alike. Executive Producer Bhoomi Nathwani described the show as a “once-in-a-lifetime theatrical event,” promising Dubai audiences an experience they will never forget.
Producer Dhanraj Nathwani shared his vision behind the musical, explaining, “With Rajadhiraaj, we aim to share the universal values of courage, wisdom, and love. The musical beautifully portrays three forms of Shri Krishna – the playful Bal Swaroop, the majestic Dwarkadheesh, and the compassionate Shrinathji. The brilliance of Rajadhiraaj is a result of an extraordinary team of creative minds. Written by Padma Shri Awardee Prasoon Joshi, the musical is directed by Shruti Sharma and enriched with soul-stirring compositions by the renowned duo Sachin-Jigar. Choreographers Bertwin D’Souza and Shampa Gopikrishna have crafted breathtaking dance sequences, while the grand set design by Omung Kumar adds to the immersive experience. Creative producers Parthiv Gohil and Viral Rachh have ensured every detail is executed to perfection.
