As the Coronavirus continues to spread, the world is gearing up to deal with its unprecedented impact. The Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games have been postponed until next year because of the global coronavirus pandemic.
The event was due to begin on 24 July 2020 and it has now been postponed to “no later than summer of 2021”. Even though it is heartbreaking for all the athletes and the viewers all across the world, the delay is necessary to ensure the health and wellbeing of everyone involved.
While there have also been delays in major sports events and tournaments all around the globe, so far the Olympics is the biggest event to be postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
