Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the deputy ruler of the emirate of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates finance minister passed away. This news was Tweeted by the ruler of Dubai today (March 24th, Wednesday). He was aged 75 and was unwell for some months. He was the finance minister since 1971. He even had surgery abroad.
“Funeral prayers will be restricted to family members due to the (COVID) pandemic,” Dubai Media Office tweeted. The Emirati has announced 10 days of mourning along with flags that will be flown at half-mast on Wednesday. All government institutions in Dubai will be close for three days from Thursday.
