This month we are going to see multiple planets align or cluster together in our solar system, creating a mesmerising display in the night sky. On Wednesday, January 10th and Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024, these celestial wonders will grace the UAE, visible to the naked eye. To catch the best view, find a dark spot with a clear view of the east/southeast on January 10 or south on January 23. Get ready for a stellar show, ranging from celestial triangles to rare formations with five or six planets. It’s a night sky spectacle that promises to leave you in awe.

Venus, Saturn & Jupiter: The Milky Way Trifecta

And especially mark your calendars for Tuesday, January 23rd! Dubai’s night sky will host a trio of planets – Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn – putting on a dazzling display throughout the night. Even in the city lights, these celestial bodies will be easily visible. It’s a one-night-only cosmic alignment, a dynamic and ever-changing display brought about by the planets’ orbits around the Sun.

Wolf Moon: The Grand Finale

Moving forward, on Thursday, January 25th, 2024, get ready for the grand finale – the Wolf Moon. This will be the largest full moon of the year, appearing to look up to 14% larger than usual. The moon is set to rise at 5:30 pm local Dubai time, and reach its transit point at 12:40 am, and gracefully set at 7:05 am. With the naked eye, you might even catch a glimpse of the moon’s dark and light areas, the maria and lunares.
