In Germany, a nine-year-old burglary was solved with the help of a half-ate sausage. The DNA on the sausage matched with the man who was detained in France for an unrelated crime. Police said the sausage belonged to the victim of the crime, and a 30-year-old Albanian citizen (who was suspected) had taken a bite from the sausage during the March 2012 burglary.
Though the type of sausage wasn’t identified, the investigators said that the French police had picked up a matching DNA sample. The suspect is roaming around freely right now, and the police say that he may escape all punishments since the statute of limitations has expired on the burglary. This means that it is most likely that he will not be caught in Germany.
