Ramadan 2022: Tentative Date Of Sha’ban Announced

Sha’ban, the Islamic (Hijri) calendar month preceding Ramadan, is expected to begin on March 4. According to astrological calculations, the crescent moon of Sha’ban, which marks the beginning of a Hijri calendar month, may be seen on Thursday, April 3. According to Ibrahim Al Jarwan, head of the Emirates Astronomy Society’s Board of Directors, Friday, April 4, will be Sha’ban 1.

In the month of Sha’aban, Muslims throughout the world begin preparing for the dawn-to-dusk Ramadan fasting. Many people fast for a few days during the month to prepare their bodies for Ramadan. Jarwan previously stated that the first day of the holy month of Ramadan in 2022 will be on April 2nd.

Depending on the sighting of the crescent, Islamic months endure 29 or 30 days. Ramadan is projected to run 30 days this year, ending on May 1. This suggests that the first day of the Islamic celebration of Eid Al Fitr will most likely be May 2.

At the commencement of the month, Al Jarwan stated that fasting hours during Ramadan will be 13 hours and 40 minutes. The hours would have grown to 14 hours and 20 minutes by the end of the month.
