Beaches in southwestern Turkey are raging with wildfires. Tourists from all hotels and resorts were evacuated since the fire was threatening them. The fires have till now killed about 8 people. Turkey’s major tourist region, Mediterranean and Aegean coasts have been battling about 100 different blazes. Officials now confirm that 10 of them have been put out.
The shortage of firefighting aircraft was directly blamed on the president, to which he replied, “the main reason for these issues with planes is that the Turkish Aeronautical Association has not been able to update its fleet and technology”. To help Turkey, more help in the form of aircraft are coming from Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Russia and Iran.
