Maternity and now even paternity leave has become a very common thing all around the world but New Zealand did something out of the way. A bill was introduced by MP Ginny Andersen, which would grant employees three days of leave after they go through a miscarriage, and it was approved!
She said, “I hope that this bill will go some way in allowing women to feel more comfortable about talking about miscarriage and that they feel comfortable reaching out for support and for help in what is a huge physical and emotional loss.”
New Zealand just approved a new measure allowing for paid leave after miscarriage. The legislation is believed to be among the first in the world, applying to couples who lose a baby at any point. pic.twitter.com/9t13qMe73Z
