Aminat Idrees is a 26-year-old athlete from Nigerian, who whilst being 8 months pregnant won a gold medal at a multi-sport event. She won in Mixed Poomsae, a non-combat category in Taekwondo. This tournament was a National Sports Festival and happens every two years. Idrees also won many other medals in non-combat stimulated categories of Taekwondo.

“It’s such a privilege for me. I just decided to give it a try after training a couple of times… It feels really good. Before I got pregnant, I have always enjoyed the training, so it didn’t seem different with pregnancy,” Aminat Idrees told CNN.
