In the UAE, to decrease the spread of the virus, the Uber app has teamed up with an app called Mediclinic, to offer free rides to all those around Dubai and Abu Dhabi who are waiting to get vaccinated. Free trips will be offered both to and from Mediclinic centres around Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre (ICT) and Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) are fully in support of this initiative. This service is valid till May 11th.
“We’ve been looking at how we can support local communities and complement the government’s efforts to vaccinate residents and limit the spread of the virus,” said the General Manager of Uber UAE, Rifat Mahasneh,
“The partnership with Mediclinic is an important step in giving people better access to get to vaccination centres safely and reliably at a time when mobility is impacted. We hope people make the most of this initiative.”
