Dubai Has A New AED 26 Mn ‘Welcome To Dubai’ Sign That You Can See From Your Airplane Window

There’s a reason why people fight for the window seat on airplanes – I mean, if you had the chance to soar thousands of feet above the dazzling Burj Khalifa and see the entire Dubai skyline as a whole, would you say no? The view is already spectacular enough for first-time visitors, but Dubai is taking things up a notch with an incredibly massive AED 26 Million (USD 7 million) “Welcome to Dubai” sign! The colossal sign will be written in both English & Arabic and placed at the intersection of Airport Road and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. As part of a larger beautification in the city, the sign is set to be the first thing passengers see when they land in Dubai. Come with me, and I’ll tell you all the incredible you need to know about what’s to come soon.

The Best City In The World

This project is part of a larger plan driven by the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE’s Vice President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. His goal is to position Dubai as the best city in the world to live in, and greening projects like this one play a key role in that vision. This project reflects the city’s dedication to creating more green spaces and promoting sustainability while enhancing the overall appeal of the Emirate for both residents and visitors.

A Spectacle To See Both Day & Night

Covering more than 360,000 square meters, this project isn’t just about a sign. It’s a massive green space that stands out for its creative use of decorative elements like coloured gravel and innovative lighting, ensuring it looks stunning both during the day and at night. With 50,000 plants and shrubs carefully selected to enhance the landscape, this green space offers a fresh, vibrant look. The vegetation includes a variety of species that were chosen for their visual appeal, supported by modern irrigation systems that are designed to optimize water use while maintaining the lush greenery.

This new “Welcome to Dubai” sign is just the beginning of many similar projects that will make the city even more attractive to residents and visitors alike.
