Yes, this is not a drill! In honour of International Museum Day, 8 of the UAE’s top museums are joining the celebration by opening their doors to you for absolute no money. With museums across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah, you’ll have no shortage of options. Come with me, and let’s find the best museums for you to visit this weekend (or maybe even all 8, if you’re feeling ambitious enough!)

Dubai Museums

1. Expo 2020 Dubai Museum & Garden in the Sky

Only available for these 2 days (May 17 & 18), this special access includes the Expo Museum and a ride up to the Garden in the Sky, which gives you amazing views of the city. If you want to explore more Expo attractions like Terra, Alif, and Vision, you can get a combo ticket for just AED 25!

2. Jameel Arts Centre

This contemporary art space is calm, creative, and totally free to visit. Explore changing exhibitions, garden installations, and get inspired by local and international artists. If you want to dive deeper, you can book a free guided tour online.

3. Miraj Islamic Art Centre

Love beautiful things? This hidden gem offers an incredible private collection of Islamic art from across the Muslim world. Think silk carpets, ceramic wonders, calligraphy, and intricate jewellery.

5. Manarat Al Saadiyat

This artistic hub on Saadiyat Island is currently showcasing the Abu Dhabi Masterpieces Collection. i’m talking about 3 specially curated exhibitions you don’t want to miss. It’s quiet, spacious, and a great place to take in creative energy. All you have to do for entry into this museum for free this weekend is register your name at the door. (Just keep in mind, kids under 10 aren’t allowed.)
