A nonstop 20-hour direct flight from Sydney to London and New York in 2025 will be started by Qantas. The company has bought a new fleet of jets that can reportedly fly to any city without halting. The Sydney-London journey is expected to take roughly 20 hours, making it the world’s longest passenger flight. The route was officially started in 1947, and it took 58 hours and seven stops. Qantas has been preparing the route, termed the Project Sunrise, for years, but somehow the pandemic has caused a few setbacks.

In 2017, the airline began testing 17-hour direct flights between London and Perth. And it already operates flights from Australia’s capital to Rome. However, the new planes, which have plenty of legroom and luxurious seating places, will allow passengers to fly from Sydney. According to reports, the cabins will be divided into four classes: first, business, premium economy, and economy. In the plane’s centre will be a “wellbeing zone” with a self-service food bar and “room for movement.” Prices have not yet been announced, but they are expected to be high.
