If you’ve ever stood at baggage claim watching the same sad suitcase do a dozen laps while your phone dies and your patience follows suit, join the club – we meet on airport floors and bond over back pain and broken wheels. But guess what? Dubai International Airport just dropped a MAJOR game-changer: a new baggage delivery service that sends your suitcases straight to your home or hotel room. That too, within six hours of landing. So while you’re already in your pyjamas scrolling memes, your suitcase is still working overtime trying to find you. Yup, if you don’t get to the baggage, the baggage gets to you!
This marvel is courtesy of marhaba, the VIP-ish arm of Emirates’ dnata, and baggage wizards DUBZ. They’ve charmingly titled it “Land and Leave,” which, come to think of it, is the dream most of us have for both flights and awkward conversations.

Now, if you’re the kind of traveller who insists on arriving at the airport four hours early just to queue with strangers who cough with commitment, bless your structured soul. But for the rest of us, marhaba has also launched a “Check In Anywhere” service. Whether you’re lazing at home, tapping away in office or just chilling at a friend’s, consider your work done! A check-in agent will swing by, grab your bags, hand over your boarding pass, and handle all the airport hassle. All you have to do is smile, hand them your stuff and wonder if this is how celebrities travel.
Also, this means you can actually enjoy your pre-flight coffee without clutching your passport like it’s a hostage. You glide through the airport with the grace of someone who hasn’t lugged 23 kilos of questionable packing choices through a crowded terminal. Ah, pure bliss.

And because Dubai is often the glamorous pit stop between Point A and “Oh, another 7 hours to go?”, there’s a third option: Baggage Storage & Delivery. Perfect for transit travellers who want to explore the city without dragging half their wardrobe behind them like a rejected reality show contestant.
Leave your bags, stretch your legs, see the Burj, and your luggage magically reappears when you’re done pretending to be an influencer. Or for once, being free bird that you’re meant to be!

Booking this whole adulting upgrade is simple! Head over to the marhaba website or visit their counters around the city. Book online 24 hours before arrival if you’re the organised type. If you’re not, no judgment, just call them up.
Oh, and heads up – this isn’t a free airport fairy tale. The “Land and Leave” service starts at AED 249, and “Check In Anywhere” begins at AED 279. Yes, it costs more than that suspicious neck pillow you impulse-bought last time, but think of the dignity you’ll retain.
Turns out, science asks this question. A Global Passenger Survey by IATA revealed that 70% of people want to check in early and avoid the joyless shuffle of airport lines. As Jaffar Dawood of dnata put it, this is about “removing friction.” Not to be confused with removing frizz, although both are critical in summer. Okay, enough of my PJs.
So yeah, DXB just took the most annoying part of travel and quietly cancelled it, like an outdated WhatsApp group. And frankly, I’d like to nominate them for a medal, a spa voucher or at least a thank you cake.
