Nithin Vas, who is an environmental activist from Karnataka, India came up with a brilliant idea of developing eco-friendly masks. Basically, these masks, if sown in the soil after use will grow into plants. Though these masks are not as soft as regular masks, they are quite durable. Since they are made of cotton pulp, washing them is not a good option.
“The first layer of the mask is made up of cotton rags and the inner layer is made up of cotton linings. Interestingly, once these degradable masks are thrown in the soil, plants will grow out of them from the seeds embedded on these masks,” said Nithin.
