During The FIFA World Cup, Qatar Suspends Visitor Access & Here’s More

Qatar has implemented new entry and leave procedures for the duration of the FIFA World Cup, which begins in less than two months. Visitors will be barred from entering the country through its air, land, and sea borders from November 1 to December 22, with visit visas returning on December 23. Except for Hayya card holders, visitors will be permitted to enter the nation throughout the duration of the FIFA World Cup. Holders of Hayya cards are permitted to remain in the nation until January 23, 2023.

The Hayya Card is a Fan ID issued by the Qatari government to supporters who have purchased match tickets for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. While the authorities have exempted certain categories from the rule, they have urged everyone to follow the decision.

Exempted Categories

  1. Qatari citizens, residents and Gulf nationals who hold Qatari ID cards
  2. Holders of recruitments visas and work entry permits
  3. Humanitarian cases based on approvals issued by the official platform

Qatar will be the first Arab country to host the World Cup, the world’s largest sporting event. The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be held from November 20 to December 18, with Qatar hosting the opening game against Ecuador. Fifa President Gianni Infantino has stated that the World Cup would be the “best-ever” and that foreign supporters will enjoy an experience similar to “a youngster going to Disneyland for the first time and witnessing the attractions and toys.”

The ministry urged everyone to follow the laws and regulations published in this regard in order for the football tournament to be a success. Hayya Card holders attending the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar will be able to enter the UAE several times within a 90-day period, according to the UAE.
