Well if you haven’t heard the news already, then you definitely need to know this. Dubai is on the verge of acquiring a sophisticated and elegant waterfront location. Covering a vast area of 13.4 sqkm, twice the size of Palm Jumeirah, the upcoming Palm Jebel Ali project will represent a significant milestone in Dubai’s development. With awe-inspiring waterfalls, expansive green spaces, and exceptional waterfront experiences, this project is set to add approximately 110km of coastline to Dubai, providing an unmatched luxury beachside living experience for around 35,000 families.
Tweeted by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the visionary development masterplan for Palm Jebel Ali received his approval, as he emphasised the continuous efforts to build the most beautiful city in the world. Dubai is already home to remarkable manmade islands such as Palm Jumeirah and Palm Jebel Ali, with their distinctive palm tree-shaped archipelago design, serving as architectural wonders reclaimed from the sea.
The Palm Jebel Ali project aims to be smart, diverse, and sustainable. It will feature mixed-use walkable neighbourhoods, incorporating smart city technologies and sustainable practices. The project will also prioritise providing a wide range of mobility options for residents, visitors, and communities. As an environmentally conscious endeavour, up to 30 per cent of the island’s energy requirements will be sourced from renewable sources.

The island of Palm Jebel Ali will not only host over 80 hotels and resorts, along with a variety of entertainment and leisure facilities, but it will also become an aspirational residential destination within the city. The visionary project is led by Nakheel, a renowned Dubai-based real estate master developer. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, the chairman of Nakheel, expressed honour in embarking on this groundbreaking journey with the new masterplan of Palm Jebel Ali, an unprecedented project in terms of magnitude and scale. Inspired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision, this mega project will mark a significant milestone in the ongoing growth of the city.
Sheikh Mohammed affirmed Dubai’s commitment to innovation and delivering world-class lifestyle destinations that solidify its position as the best city to live, work, and visit. With ambitious plans for the future, he expressed confidence in transforming the grand vision for development into reality through Palm Jebel Ali, which will further enhance the city’s urban infrastructure and establish Dubai as one of the world’s leading metropolises. Sheikh Mohammed emphasised Dubai’s new phase of development driven by innovation and creativity, capitalising on opportunities in the evolving global environment to enhance its competitiveness as a thriving global business and tourism hub.
