Dubai: Here Are The Latest Quarantine Rules For Close Contacts

To guarantee the safety of others, close contact must be confined in a separate room for seven days and preventative steps must be taken. With Covid-19 instances on the rise in the UAE, it’s critical to understand the guidelines and precautions to take while in close contact with someone infected with the coronavirus.

Whereas the UAE’s health officials take an active part in protecting public health safety, here are a few suggestions citizens should follow if they come into touch with sick individuals. When an individual is exposed to a confirmed Covid-19 case for at least 15 minutes nearby of one metre or less.

A person who had direct physical contact with a positive case, for example, a handshake, 48 hours before the positive case displayed symptoms, two days before the positive case had the PCR test performed, or during the ten days of sickness.

The quarantine period of seven days begins two days before the confirmed Covid-19 positive case had a PCR test or two days before the confirmed patient case displayed any coronavirus symptoms. If no symptoms are reported during daily monitoring, the quarantine will end on day 7.

Here are all the steps for close quarantine:

Step 1: The close contact must be isolated in a separate room for seven days while preventive steps are taken to safeguard the protection of others.

Step 2: The DHA will contact and notify the close contact of the appropriate processes, or the close contact can phone DHA at 800-342.

Step 3: The quarantine is for seven days, and a PCR test is not required if there are no symptoms.

Step 4: Call 800 342 to schedule a PCR test appointment if any symptoms emerge during the quarantine period.

Step 5: If the test results are positive, you will be called to begin the isolation measures. The seclusion time is ten days long. If the test results are negative, you must stay in quarantine for seven days.
