The H Dubai Hotel has achieved the prestigious designation of being a Certified Autism Center, making it the first hotel in Dubai to receive this recognition. The certification is awarded by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). It signifies the hotel’s commitment to providing accessible and accommodating services for individuals with autism and sensory sensitivities.
The certification process involved thorough training for the hotel’s staff to ensure they have the knowledge and resources necessary to create a positive experience for autistic guests, their families, and individuals with other special needs. The H Dubai’s dedication to inclusivity aligns with the Department of Economy and Tourism’s (DET) initiative to establish Dubai as a Certified Autism Destination (CAD), offering a wide range of certified accommodations, recreational activities, and entertainment options that cater to the needs of individuals with autism and sensory sensitivities.

As part of the Certified Autism Center designation, The H Dubai underwent an on-site assessment by IBCCES, receiving recommendations and sensory guides to enhance the overall guest experience. These guides provide valuable information about the sensory intensity in different areas of the hotel, such as noise levels, lighting, and other sensory factors. By providing this information, guests can make informed decisions before entering specific areas, ensuring a more comfortable stay.
The H Dubai’s achievement contributes to Dubai’s larger goal of becoming a more inclusive and accessible destination. The city’s disabled tourism task force, led by HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, was established to make Dubai a world leader in disability-friendly tourism. By recognising the spending power and potential of accessible tourism, Dubai aims to create an inclusive tourism ecosystem. The team regularly engages with disabled individuals, gathering feedback and insights to meet their needs and requirements when travelling.
The H Dubai’s certification as a Certified Autism Center hotel reflects its dedication to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for guests with autism and sensory sensitivities. This achievement aligns with Dubai’s broader initiative to become a Certified Autism Destination and establish the city as an accessible and accommodating hub for individuals with special needs.
