Michael Osterholm, an infectious disease expert said, “we’re not done with this virus at all.” The main criteria for curbing the spread of the virus is vaccination. “I think this is all the more reason why we have to know that we’re not done with the virus yet,” Osterholm added. “We’re surely farther along in this country than other places but we still need to get people vaccinated. And as you know, things have slowed down dramatically in terms of new people getting vaccinated.”
"We have to know that we’re not done with the virus yet. We have over a hundred counties in this country that have had less than 20% of their population vaccinated. We have states where we’re well below 40% with even a single dose of vaccine in people."

Since new variants are surfacing, governments are imposing lockdowns, which in turn slows down the rate of vaccination. The delta variant in India created big havoc. During April and May 2021, there was a time where the country saw more than 400,000 new cases in a day. Plus all the myths about vaccination are further encouraging people to not get vaccinated.
