For iPhone owners, iOS 16 will bring some significant changes. The next iPhone upgrade announced during Apple’s WWDC 2022 event, will allow users to modify and unsend messages they’ve already sent via the Messages app.
According to The Verge, software engineering senior VP Craig Federighi announced the news, as well as the fact that users will be able to flag threads as unread and return to them later. Users will be able to edit or unsend a text for up to 15 minutes after it is sent, and they will be able to recover texts for up to 30 days after they are sent.
“We’re adding three of the most highly-requested features to Messages,” Federighi said. “First, have you ever sent a message only to immediately realize you didn’t quite say what you intended? Well, no worries. Because now, you can edit any message you just sent. So embarrassing typos can be a thing of the past.”
