All About The ‘Win AED 500 For Every Kilo You Lose’ Weight Loss Challenge In The UAE

In a new contest introduced on Monday, you might earn thousands of dirhams for reducing weight. The greatest losers in the ‘RAK Biggest Weight Loser Challenge (RBWL)’ stand to earn AED 500 for each kg they drop. RAK Hospital, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Prevention, launched the competition.

The 10-week challenge begins on December 17 and concludes on March 4, 2022, on ‘World Obesity Day.’ Over 3,000 individuals from the UAE are expected to participate, according to organisers. There are three categories in the challenge: physical, virtual, and corporate.

Physical:

The challenge will begin on December 17-19, with competitors being weighed on the hospital grounds. A team of doctors, nurses, and support professionals will be on hand to assess the participants’ weight and other critical factors and register them for the challenge.

Virtual:

Residents of the UAE who are unable to attend the physical event can participate in this category. They can get their weight and vitals checked at a nearby doctor and then upload the validated registration form to the contest website.

Corporate:

Those who enjoy cooperation and need incentives to lose weight can take part in the ‘Corporate Teams Challenge.’

Cash, staycations, health and vacation packages, and dining coupons are among the prizes available. Winners in all three categories will be recognised during an awards ceremony. There will be five winners: one male and one female champion in each of the physical and virtual categories, as well as one corporate team.

“We invite all UAE residents to be part of this novel initiative, which aims to motivate people of all ages to become a better version of themselves by getting fitter and healthier. Even though the pandemic has moved our focus on health and wellness, many of us are still unaware of the complications that obesity poses,” said Dr Raza Siddiqui, executive director at RAK Hospital.

“Our holistic campaign will not only motivate the community members to take charge of their health but will also guide them in every step of their journey through individualised charts, weekly nutrition and exercise tips, webinars, and customised solutions to achieve the desired outcome.”
