The cost of PCR testing at Abu Dhabi’s healthcare institutions has been cut to AED 40. The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), the emirate’s healthcare sector regulator, has changed the price. The judgement was revealed late yesterday on the authority’s social media accounts. “The [DoH has] updated the cost of PCR test to [Dh]40 across all medical facilities in Abu Dhabi emirate. The decision will be effective as of March 1, 2022,” the DoH said in a post.
As a preventative step, Abu Dhabi continues to require a valid Green Pass for entrance to public facilities such as malls, conference centres, gyms, restaurants, movie theatres, and amusement parks. This implies that homeowners and visitors must be completely vaccinated and test negative on 14-day PCR testing. Previously, the test cost AED 50 if conducted at an emirate medical facility, with only home service providers charging somewhat extra as service fees.
