Explore The China-UAE Celebration In Abu Dhabi At Umm Al Emarat Park

This week Umm Al Emarat Park is hosting a spectacular event to honour 40 years of strong ties between the UAE and China. Until Saturday, February 1st, the park is home to the “Together in Light: 40 Years of China-UAE Friendship” exhibition, in partnership with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and the Chinese Language Institute. This unique celebration beautifully highlights the shared cultural heritage of both nations. Come with me, and I’ll share all the mesmerising details you need to know!

Step Into A World Of Lights & Culture

Abu Dhabi Celebrates The Chinese New Year & 40 Years Of Friendship With A Festive ExhibitionAbu Dhabi Celebrates The Chinese New Year & 40 Years Of Friendship With A Festive Exhibition

The highlight of this celebration is the incredible Zigong Lantern Exhibition. Imagine walking among 20 dazzling lantern displays, each crafted by expert artisans from Sichuan. These aren’t your ordinary lanterns – they all tell stories! You’ll see pandas guarding doorways, scenes from the Silk Road, and tributes to iconic Chinese treasures like tea and silk. Every display feels like a page from the book of China’s vibrant cultural history.

Hands-On Fun For Everyone

But that’s not all! Try your hand at traditional Chinese crafts like woodblock printing and lantern painting, or be amazed by the famous Sichuan opera face-changing performances. Surrounding the lanterns, you’ll find a bustling bazaar packed with cultural goodies, traditional outfits, and souvenirs to take a piece of the experience home with you!

A Special Touch For Families

And for families, there’s something extra sweet – an art display called “Me and My Hometown.” Kids from the UAE and China have created beautiful artworks celebrating their cultural roots, and their pieces will be on display to inspire others. It’s a wonderful way to show how creativity can connect people from different worlds.

Fushion Fashion Goes Digital

The celebration doesn’t stop at the park – they’re taking it digital, too! With 2 fun social media campaigns, #HanfuMeetsUAE and #AbayaMeetsChina, everyone is invited to join the cultural fusion fashion show online. Influencers will showcase traditional Chinese Hanfu outfits during the lantern festival, while Chinese visitors are encouraged to try Emirati attire. It’s a beautiful way to blend and swap cultural fashion traditions.

Don’t Miss Out

This is more than just a festival – it’s a celebration of connection, history, and shared traditions. The exhibition is open every day until Saturday, February 1st, from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM and entry costs just AED 10 per person. So grab your friends and family, and let Umm Al Emarat Park take you on a cultural journey to celebrate the Chinese New Year!
